Dnipropetrovsk

Dnipropetrovsk is one of the largest cities of Ukraine, the administrative center of Dnipropetrovsk region. The city stands on a picturesque place on the banks of the Dnieper River, which is considered a symbol of Ukraine.

Dnipropetrovsk was founded in 1787. At that time the city was called Ekaterinoslav, in honour of the Russian Tsarica Catherine II, on whose order he was actually founded. Only in 1926 the city was renamed by the Soviet power and gained its current name.

Some believe that Kiev was founded much earlier in 1787. According to one version, there was a Polish fortress in the 17 th century. Historically, the neighborhood that were present Dnepropetrovsk Ukrainian domain cossacks. Cossacks are the free people and did not recognize any authority above themselves. Officially ruling Ukraine Rzeczpospolita could not come to terms with this reality. In order to pacify recalcitrant Cossacks in 1635 on the shore of the Dnieper Poles built a fortress Kodak. That is the date of the castle grounds, some historians consider the date of founding of Dnipropetrovsk.

Among the special sights of Dnepropetrovsk is signed out monastic island. For the first time, the island has been mentioned in the annals as the most northern point, which came to its mission one of the disciples of Christ - Andrew. The name to the island was given by Byzantine monastery, existed here in the 9 th century. In the middle of last century on the island was laid park and, more recently, in 1999, was built by an Orthodox temple.

Also vivid impression of the city will become bridges across the Dnieper.There are many in Dnepropetrovsk, and each has its own architectural style and beauty. The most impressive bridges are Merefa-Kherson and Amursky.

River of Memory will appear in Minsk

Holidays in Bulgaria: visa-free regime for Schengen owners
The Bulgarian government decided to simplify for many tourists the procedure of entering the country. From now on all people with a valid Schengen visa can go on holiday to Bulgaria without national visa. In such way Bulgaria is preparing its structures for the upcoming country’s entry into the visa-free regime, which today functions between the EU countries. The decision to introduce new visa rules was taken by the Bulgarian cabinet of ministers on Wednesday January 26, 2011. According to the Bulgarian cabinet, the new visa policy will spur the tourist interest and will make Bulgaria more attractive to foreign investors. Schengen visa owners will be able to get permission to enter Bulgaria and stay on its territory for a period of up to 3 months during the six months from the date of first entry. It should be noted that the new visa rules in Bulgaria will be useful not only for the EU citizens, but also tourists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, who have a Schengen visa. New measures, inter alia, must stir up not only the tourism sector, but also resort property market in Bulgaria. Since the beginning of the financial crisis in 2008 leading Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria have marked decreasing of the square meter price. Opportunity to visit the country for Schengen owners will facilitate entry of potential buyers and will indirectly stimulate the demand for Bulgarian property. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, in 2011 its consulates issued in total 733 623 visas, which is by 18% more than in 2010.
