Kiev is the capital of Ukraine, one of the largest states in Eastern Europe. Kiev is a large and beautiful city. There are high buildings, wide prospects, cozy squares and the Dnieper - the main river of Ukraine. There are many monuments of Slavic culture and the Orthodox shrines, the most striking of which is the Kiev-Pecherskaya Laura.
Kiev is traditionally one of the tourist centers in Eastern Europe. Here, in contrast to the Ukrainian province, tourist sector is well-developed. It won’t be difficult to you to find a hotel in Kiev for any taste and at reasonable price.
There is a large number of Orthodox churches and shrines In Kiev. The first place, which worth visiting, is Kiev-Pecherskaya Laura - the unique piece of Orthodox architecture. Along with the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Laura Kiev Laura is considered to be the most important monument of Slavic culture.
The symbol of Kiev, as it always has been, is Khreschatik - the central street of the city with many cafes, boutiques and restaurants. After the Second World War the Street was rebuilt. Now, it is a unique architectural ensemble with high-rise buildings, squares and broad sidewalks.
After the «orange revolution» Kiev became extremely popular among the tourists from Western Europe. For justice' sake, we must point out that even at the time of USSR the capital of Ukraine has been attractive for foreigners along with Moscow or St. Petersburg.
Recently, the tour to Kiev couldn’t be considered as completed without visiting of the islands of the Dnieper. From April, many big and small ships set off from the quay of Kiev to the islands, where in the full sense of the word, there is fun and celebration. Every day from mid-spring to mid-October, here sounds music, many discos call in the customers, but those who like extreme are invited for bungee jumping above the Dnieper.

River of Memory will appear in Minsk
Memorial composition in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack on April 11, 2011 in Minsk subway will be installed at the Oktyabrskaya station exit. Now there is a temporary marble memorial plaque where are always burning candles and church lamps.

Holidays in Bulgaria: visa-free regime for Schengen owners
The Bulgarian government decided to simplify for many tourists the procedure of entering the country. From now on all people with a valid Schengen visa can go on holiday to Bulgaria without national visa. In such way Bulgaria is preparing its structures for the upcoming country’s entry into the visa-free regime, which today functions between the EU countries.
The decision to introduce new visa rules was taken by the Bulgarian cabinet of ministers on Wednesday January 26, 2011. According to the Bulgarian cabinet, the new visa policy will spur the tourist interest and will make Bulgaria more attractive to foreign investors.
Schengen visa owners will be able to get permission to enter Bulgaria and stay on its territory for a period of up to 3 months during the six months from the date of first entry.
It should be noted that the new visa rules in Bulgaria will be useful not only for the EU citizens, but also tourists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, who have a Schengen visa.
New measures, inter alia, must stir up not only the tourism sector, but also resort property market in Bulgaria. Since the beginning of the financial crisis in 2008 leading Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria have marked decreasing of the square meter price. Opportunity to visit the country for Schengen owners will facilitate entry of potential buyers and will indirectly stimulate the demand for Bulgarian property.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, in 2011 its consulates issued in total 733 623 visas, which is by 18% more than in 2010.
