Hungary
Hungary is situated on the plain. The eastern part of the country is situated in quite a large area of lowland Alfeld. In the north-western part of the country there is a smaller area of lowland Kisalfeld. Two major rivers, the Danube and the Tisza, form a significant part of the landscape of the country. The Danube here is in fact the shortest river: in Hungary its total length is 417 kilometers. At the same time the Tisza which is 598 kilometers long is the longest river in the country.
The area between the Danube and the Tisza (Duna-Tisza Koze) is also a flat terrain. Only to the west of the Danube Hungarian landscapes become hilly. This region is known as "Dunantul" or "Transnubiya".
Almost in the middle of Transnubiya located the largest and the warmest inland lake in Central Europe, the Lake Balaton (it is situated on a plateau). In Hungary, Lake Balaton is called «the Hungarian sea». This lake, along with Budapest, is the main tourist attraction, which annually brings to the treasury of the country millions of euros. Recreation at the Lake Balaton is traditionally preferred by the Hungarians and also Austrians, Germans and Frenchmen. Recently here started to come frequently visitors from Eastern Europe, mostly from Ukraine, Russia and Moldova.
Hungarian mountains are of an average height: to west of the Danube there are Transdanub mountains Dunantuli Kozephegyseg with its 400-700-meter mountain ranges (such as the Keszthelyi-hegyseg, Bakony, Vertes, Gerecse, Pilis, Visegradi). Near the East Danube are situated the northern mountains Eszaki Kozephegyseg with a height from 500 to 1000 meters (Borzsony, Cserhat, Matra, Bukk, Cserehat, Zempleni). Along with the tours to the Lake Balaton and to the historic cities of Hungary, such as Estregom or Tokay, in the list of services offered to tourists there are tours to the Hortobad National Park, the heart of the famous Hungarian Pusta.
Hungary is known as a country that is actively developing agritourism. Agritourism in Hungary is represented with the thousands of private farmsteads throughout the country. The rural recreation, which is represented in the famous wine region of Hungary, Tokay, is worth special mentioning. Here the tourists have lots of ways to spend their holidays and to get a large amount of positive impressions, beginning with a tasting of local wines to harvest festivals and the young wine festivals.

Holidays in Bulgaria: visa-free regime for Schengen owners
The Bulgarian government decided to simplify for many tourists the procedure of entering the country. From now on all people with a valid Schengen visa can go on holiday to Bulgaria without national visa. In such way Bulgaria is preparing its structures for the upcoming country’s entry into the visa-free regime, which today functions between the EU countries.
The decision to introduce new visa rules was taken by the Bulgarian cabinet of ministers on Wednesday January 26, 2011. According to the Bulgarian cabinet, the new visa policy will spur the tourist interest and will make Bulgaria more attractive to foreign investors.
Schengen visa owners will be able to get permission to enter Bulgaria and stay on its territory for a period of up to 3 months during the six months from the date of first entry.
It should be noted that the new visa rules in Bulgaria will be useful not only for the EU citizens, but also tourists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, who have a Schengen visa.
New measures, inter alia, must stir up not only the tourism sector, but also resort property market in Bulgaria. Since the beginning of the financial crisis in 2008 leading Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria have marked decreasing of the square meter price. Opportunity to visit the country for Schengen owners will facilitate entry of potential buyers and will indirectly stimulate the demand for Bulgarian property.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, in 2011 its consulates issued in total 733 623 visas, which is by 18% more than in 2010.
