Saint Petersburg

You can talk endlessly about St. Petersburg. Within a relatively short period of 300 years, Peter (the unofficial name of the city) has become one of the major tourist centers of the world.

The sights of St. Petersburg, such as St Isaac's Cathedral, the Hermitage Museum, Peterhof, Nevsky Avenue is well-known in the whole world. They are, perhaps, the most famous monuments of the northern capital of Russia. Every tourist coming to Peter, is surely to be acquainted with these architectural masterpieces.

Many tourists try to get to St. Petersburg in late May - early June. At this very time here take place a unique natural phenomenon - White Nights. During few days the coming of the night in St. Petersburg can be found out only with the help of the clock face. During these days at 2 a.m. St. Petersburg is as light as at 5 p.m.

But St. Petersburg is attractive not only due to architectural monuments and weather phenomena. People who lived and who live here now are not a bit less interesting. If you manage to find a real alternative guide, the tour to Peter may be much more amusing than that you can be suggested in many travel agencies. The guide will take you to the city relics, unknown to the general public - artists’ skquatas, places which famous creative people visited sometimes, and will also get you acquainted with the wonderful world of Peter’s bars.

In addition, Peter is considered to be the birthplace of rock in the USSR. Therefore, if you are fortunate you will be able to meet with many Russian rock musicians of the city who are still here.

And finally, we want to give you a piece of advice: if you have the opportunity to visit St. Petersburg several times, it is better to come here in spring and then in early autumn. Then you will be able to feel the spirit of the city more fully and to be imbued with its rich history.
