Czech tourists prefer to spent their holiday at home
(The Czech Republic news)
(5) marks: 1This year, in particular with regard to the global financial crisis, a much smaller number of Czech tourists have shown interest in summer travelling abroad. It was found out by the analysts of the Czech news server Novinky.cz.
According to the poll conducted by news portal Novinky.cz, this year Czech tourists prefer to buy less expensive tours or simply stay at home. For example, the majority of tourists who visited last year the Caribbean, this year chose to cut their spending on leisure and travel, and give an advantage to such budget destinations as Egypt. Tourists, who had been to Egypt, would focus their attention on Greece. Czech travelers with their limited budget this summer will prefer to stay at home or go to the neighboring countries, particularly Slovakia, that remains a very popular tourist destination.
Due to the significant weakening of the Czech national currency, the tour operators, organizing foreign tours, fear that they will be forced to raise prices, which certainly will adversely affect the tourist flow to visit foreign and exotic countries. On the other hand, price changes for the summer tours and the announcement of their growth can be a rational marketing strategy and have a positive impact on the willingness of potential travelers to book and pay for tours in advance.
In a survey conducted by Novinky.cz participated almost 3 000 respondents. About a third of interviewees (32.8%) is thinking of abandoning travel this summer. About a quarter of respondents (24.8%) prefer to organize their own summer tour. 16,3% of Czech tourists have already purchased tours. Approximately one fifth of respondents (17.8%) suggest to buy hot tours. 6.5% of respondents had not yet planned their trip, and only 1.8% are going to purchase summer tour in the nearest future fearing of rising prices.
