The most inexpensive countries in Europe
(European news)
(5) marks: 1USB, one of the leading financial companies in Europe, had announced the results of a very intriguing study, in which were considered the prices and wages in 73 different countries around the world. As a result, it was found that it is better to work in Western Europe, but to live in the East Europe.
The research «Prices and wages», conducted by USB in 2009 will help travelers to better navigate while choosing the resort, and labor migrants to choose the country with the highest rates of the pay. The researchers collected information on prices in 73 different countries. Having compared the prices they studied the market basket consisting of 122 titles, as well as compared the salaries and their purchasing power.
During the study it was found that price for services and the standard basket of goods in the Eastern European EU countries on average is lower for 35% than in their western neighboring states. However, the level of wages in Eastern Europe is also significantly lower. Thus, Western European residents can on average can afford to purchase 13 standard consumer baskets, while the Eastern only 6, and the inhabitants of Latin America only 5.
Thus, researchers concluded that while choosing the recreational facilities people should always bear in mind the countries of Eastern Europe. On the other hand, due to the fact that wages in the west are about 3 times higher than in the east, Western European countries are the best choice for migrant workers.
One of the most popular and affordable tourist destinations in Eastern Europe is the Czech Prague, which at the time of the study was even cheaper than the capital of Slovakia Bratislava. The least expensive for tourists are such cities as Bucharest, Sofia and Budapest, where consumer prices are on average for 50% lower than in one of the capitals of the world tourism, New York.
The most expensive tourist cities of the European Union are Oslo, Zurich, Copenhagen and Geneva.
