In Croatia is to be opened the first private pilot school
(News from Croatia)
In one of the largest cities of Croatia, Osijek has been opened the country's first private school of aviation pilots “Panonia”. After long and tortuous bureaucratic procedures, the owner of the air school Miroslav Vlasic has finally received all necessary permits and certificates. It is expected that in November 2010, the school will begin classes with the students. There are already first clients, 21 year old Romanian and a 24 year old Zagreb resident, Tomislav Kovacevic, have already applied for studying.
Tomislav Kovacevic in an interview to Croatian media said that to be a pilot is his dream since childhood and for its realizing for the last four years he worked as a technician servicing the aircrafts in Ireland. He hoped to save enough money for admission to flight school. Therefore, opening of a similar school in Croatia was a great pleasant surprise for him. Because studying in Panonia, with all costs, will cost Tomislav Kovacevic 52,000 euros. It is more than two times cheaper than in other schools of the same level. Training of the future pilots will be held by leading experts from across Europe, as well as members of the Croatian national team for simultaneous flights. Panonia’s head coach is Goran Stevanović - extra class pilot, who made flights in India, Russia and the United States, and for the last 12 years he taught at JAT Airways Flight Academy in Serbia. During this time he trained about a hundred pilots.
In recent years, such schools as the Croatian Panonia have been opened everywhere. And there are trained not only people who want to work later in the air companies, but also people who fly exclusively for pleasure or business necessity. This is due to several reasons. Firstly, this is not necessary to be a millionaire to afford a small sports plane, its price is comparable to the cost of a sports car (Cessna 172 - $ 150 000, Snipe sports - 50,000 $). A purchase of your own plane, glider or hang glider is much cheaper. Secondly, human mobility increases ten times when his movement is not dependent on flight schedules, repairing of roads or strikes. Finally, do not forget about the unforgettable impressions. According to people, who piloted aircraft, the sense of flight cannot be compared with anything - it's those rare moments when a person is truly happy.
