Holidays in Croatia chose nearly 10 million people

Holidays in Croatia becomes popular again after a significant reduction in the growth of tourist traffic during the 2008-2009 crisis period. Central Bureau of Statistics of Croatia published recent data on the number of tourists visiting the country this year. During the first 9 months of 2010 in Croatia came in total 9.8 million people and most of them are tourists from abroad.
The share of foreign tourists in Croatia is more than 80%. Croatia is preferred by Germans, Slovenians, Italians, Austrians, as well as tourists from Russia and CIS. This year on the beaches of Croatia it was able to meet many of the world celebrities such as Eva Longoria, who chose to holiday on the Adriatic.
In total, Croatia was visited by 8.6 million foreigners. Compared to the same period of 2009 the increase in the number of overnight stays in hotels in Croatia is amounted to 2.7%. Hotels in Croatia had also noted a significant increase in the total number of arrivals, which is amounted to 5.3%.
This year, Croatia managed to attract by 8% more sea tourists, who visited Croatia in the framework of cruises on the Mediterranean region.
The total income of Croatian tourism industry for the 9 months of 2010 is amounted to 6.7 billion euros, which is almost 400 million euros more than in 2009.
Croatian Times notes that the basis for the success of last summer in Croatia were not only effective management of Croatian Travel Agencies, but also problems of the nearest neighbor of Croatia - Greece. Because of the numerous strikes many tourists from Germany, which are known to be one of the largest traveling the nations of the world, refused from Greece in favor of Croatia. Moreover, many Greeks had chosen holidays in Croatia. As noted in the report of the Bureau of Statistics of Croatia, the growth of tourists from Greece for the first 9 months of 2010 is amounted to more than 76%.

Bulgaria will spend 150 million euros for the castles
Bulgaria intends to start a large-scale reconstruction of its historic monuments. Today across the country there are hundreds of colorful historical sites that require serious restoration. Castles, churches, houses and villas in Bulgaria will receive state support this year. The country intends to invest about 300 million levs (150 villion Euros) in restoration of monuments. According to bTV channel, the largest part of this sum will be granted by the European Union.
