Budapest, Prague and Krakow are the cities that are worth visiting in 2011
(European news)
One of the leading American editions, the daily newspaper «The New York Times», published a list of 40 most exciting places in the world, which are definitely worth visiting in 2011. According to the analysts of the well-known American publication, in addition to such famous tourist destinations like London, Paris, Rome and New York, this year Eastern European gems will also enjoy great popularity. Among them are such great cities as Krakow, Prague and Budapest.
The leader of the tourist race in 2011 according to «The New York Times» became the dark horse, Watkins Glen (USA, New York). The first place of a modest village with a population of just over 2,000 people and only 2 major events per year in the ranking of the prestigious publication is rather a patriotic American flash-mob, rather than a desirable tourist destination.
The fifth place of the rating from «The New York Times» and the first among the European cities in the list is the "Eternal City", an unparalleled and magnificent Rome. The seventh and eighth places are occupied by colorful and crazy London and fascinating and romantic Paris. The German capital Berlin is on the 12th place, that was ahead of the "city that never sleeps" for one place.
The leader of the ranking among the Eastern European cities is the majestic city of the Hungarian kings, the resort city of Budapest. Extremely popular in recent years not only among European, but also among American tourists, is beautiful Golden Prague, which took the 19th place of the ranking. Amazing Polish city of universities, amazing sights and great culture, Krakow, holds the 23th place of the ranking, beating such popular tourist destinations like Milan, Florence and Chicago.
Completes the four Eastern European cities strongly recommended by the «The New York Times» the jewel of the Russian Federation, a museum town and a true cultural storehouse of Russia - St. Petersburg.
