Russian tourists: myths and reality

(European news)

Russian tourists have acquired reputation of drunken ruffians, notable brawlers and rare boors. A new study of the British flight search engine Skyscanner insists that not all stereotypes about Russian tourists are true.

A study conducted by Skyscanner, based on online survey, which involved more than 1,000 people. According to general opinion, breaking multiple stereotypes about Russians, Britons tourists were recognized to be the worst. British tourists have received the title of "the most hideous tourists" for unwillingness to learn the local language, drunkenness and riot, unwillingness to taste the local cuisine and beverages, as well as poor tipping.

It should be noted that in the list of "the most notorious" British tourists leaders are people from London. They are followed by residents of North East England, North West England and rowdy Scotsmen.

Among the most loyal visitors are French, who are the most polite, are famous gourmands and generous customers.
Also very positive feedbacks earned German tourists, who in the opinion of the respondents significantly less than other drink and are not so rowdy, and, as a rule, very actively study the local language.

Surprisingly, the myth that Russian tourists are the most famous drinkers and brawlers turned out to be untrue. The gold medal for drunkenness was given to the British, who are widely famous around the world for liking alcohol. Silver went to the American tourists. Russians in the competition of scandals and drunken brawls won only third place.

However, the situation was offset by the leading position of the Russians as the most brutal and rude tourists. Second and third places in this category occupy residents from Germany and the USA. The most well-mannered are French and British.

Nevertheless, despite unpleasant details about Russian tourists, they often enjoy experimenting with local cuisine and compensate the lack of courtesy by the most generous tips.
