Bulgarian resorts are waiting for more tourists

(News from Bulgaria)

Holidays in Bulgaria remains one of the most popular ways to spend summer vacations in Eastern Europe. This season the authorities expect that resorts in Bulgaria will be able to set a new record on the number of foreign tourists.

According to Radio Echo Sofia, the Bulgarian government announced forecast figures for the Black Sea coast. As expected, such resorts as Albena, Bourgas, Varna and others can receive by 12-15% more tourists compared with summer 2010.

It is worth noting that increase in tourists, which is optimistically marked by the Bulgarian government, according to a number of local professionals do not reflect the real situation on the market. Thus, according to the head of the Association of travel agencies in Bulgaria Lubomir Pankovski, changes that were recently made to the tax legislation in Bulgaria, do not allow to count on such significant increase in tourist traffic due to the increased cost of packages, to which will inevitably lead new tax measures.

It is worth noting that the Bulgarian authorities are planning such significant increase in tourist traffic not only at the expense of foreigners (mainly tourists from Russia, Ukraine and Germany), but also through its own market. In 2010, by 2% more Bulgarians preferred native beaches to trips abroad. At the same time, the number of Bulgarian citizens, who go abroad for holidays, is still quite high. Echo Sofia provides for the following figures: from 2.7 billion dollars, which the Bulgarians spent on vacations, only 75% of the amount was left in the country. So the reserve for growth in domestic tourism still exists.

Another reason, which, as expected, will affect the growth of popularity of holiday destinations in Bulgaria, can become major advertising company. The government held it on a number of major television channels from September 2010 to March 2011. According to the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism, during this time advertising programs of the country were watched in total by 137 million people.

Anyway, even today poezdka.de portal is ready to make a feasible contribution to the promotion of tourism in Bulgaria among Internet users. Apartments in Bulgaria, Bulgarian hotels and other types of tourist estate in the country are available for online booking.
