Holidays in Jurmala 2011: accommodation and prices
(News from Latvia)
Holidays in Jurmala this year may be more expensive than last year. And it is not so much about the hotels, but the private sector.
Apartments, villas, flats in Jurmala - in June prices for accommodation at the main Latvian resort increased by 25-30% since last year.
This significant grow in June in Jurmala to some extent was caused by the increase in property prices, which was recorded at the resort in May. According to the data released by the Latvian information portal Delfi, the cost of square meter for new construction projects in Jurmala in May increased by 20-40% compared with May 2010, and prices of free real estate of the old stock were similar to the pre-crisis 2007 prices.
Officially summer season this year in Jurmala was opened on May 14. However massive tourist inflow is expected at the resort in June. For example, one of the early markers of the active tourism season is the date of opening the largest water park in the Baltic - Livu, which in 2011 opened its doors and swimming pools on June 4. Accordingly, seasonal growth begins from these date.
Currently, the main group of tourists in Jurmala is Russians. They, according to real estate agencies in Jurmala, are the main buyers of holiday homes, as well as customers of Jurmala lessors.
Today accommodation in Jurmala is offered in several price segments. Apartment rental in Jurmala on the first line in early June cost 2800 - 4000 thousand euros in new residential complexes. Furnished cottages on the main streets of the city will cost from 7,000 to 15,000 euros per month. Budget Jurmala: cheap summer houses on the Latvian Baltic will cost 400-500 lats, however, location (near the river) and the quality of housing in this case is significantly lower. In addition, many owners are offering to rent their homes for all season.
Anyway, for those who cannot find suitable apartments the portal poezdka.de offers booking of hotels in Jurmala online.
