Ryanair enters the Ukrainian market

(News from Ukraine)

Already in May 2012 on the airline market of Ukraine will appear a new player - Ryanair. Ryanair is an Irish budget airlinefounded in 1985, which is the European leader of low-cost airlines. It will be the fifth budget airline in the Ukraine along with AirArabia, WizzAir, Pegasus and Germanwings. According to the analysts, such a powerful opponent would lead to the revival of competition, which in turn would have a positive impact on the entire Ukrainian aviation market. In a press release from Ryanair were announced the flights that will likely appear the first: from France and Great Britain to Lviv and Donetsk. And although the ticket prices were not announced, the company’s spokesman said that they will surprise the customers. Ryanair plans to serve 500 thousand passengers in 2012.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy in an interview told that Ryanair appearance on the passenger air travel market in Ukraine is an additional plus for the fans, who would visit the country during the Euro 2012. Ukrainians, however, will have to change their approach to the system of ticket buying, because Ryanair flights can be booked only via the Internet.

Ryanair was the first budget airline founded in Europe and from the very beginning strongly competes with the European companies operating regular flights. To date Ryanair serves over 1,100 destinations in 160 airports and 27 countries in Europe and Morocco on 1,500 flights per day. According to the JACDEC Bureau, the company is ranked seventh in the list of the world's most reliable carriers.
