The photos of Minsk temples
In this section we will publish the photos of Minsk temples, cathedrals, and churches which belong to different religions, but which are involved in creating a unified image of the capital of Belarus. Minsk is the city where the most massive religious faiths are the Orthodox and Catholics. Therefore, the bulk of the churches and cathedrals in Minsk belong to these two branches of Christianity. At the same time, it is a historical feature that a number of Orthodox churches today is located in the temples, which originally belonged to the Catholic Church orders. A striking example is the main Orthodox church in Minsk, the Holy Spirit Cathedral on the street of Cyril and Methodius, which once was a temple at the Catholic convent of Bernardines. In addition to the old temples, built mostly in the 16-19 centuries. in Minsk today is being erected a number of new churches, mainly Orthodox. The newest temples are the Church of Reverend Efrosinya of Polotsk on Prytytskogo Street, as well as the Cathedral of All Saints on Kalinovskogo Street. Under construction now is also a Catholic Church of John the Baptist in the district Serebryanka.
