Montenegro

Montenegro is the youngest state of Europe. Its independence the country gained in 2006, the last of the republics of Yugoslavia.

Even when being a Union Republic Montenegro has won the fame of one of the best resort regions in the Balkans. The cleanest Adriatic and a multitude of attractions, many of which are unique of its kind, attracted and still attract tourists from all over Europe for almost 50 years.

Montenegro is the country for summer holidays. Therefore the main season here starts in May. And naturally, in May, prices begin to grow. One way or another, on the shore of Montenegro you can find almost any product and it will cost a quarter more expensive than in the whole country regardless of the season.

While talking about the attractions in the country there are several worthwhile tours for a day or two: Tara Canyons (the height of the shores is over 1 000 m) and the town of Kotor. There is the Bay of Boka Kotorska near Kotor. Boka Kotorska is considered to be one of the most picturesque and beautiful bays of the Mediterranean Sea. By the way, both the Canyons and Kotor are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Most of the resorts in Montenegro, located on the shores of the Gulf of Kotor: Herceg-Novi, Igalo, Perast, and Risan. The resorts of the Adriatic are also very popular: Sutomor, Petrovac, Ulcin, Budva town and resorts in the vicinity (the island of St. Nicholas, Stephi-Stephen and others). Typically, in most of these resorts is better to stay in villas of the private owners. In comparison prices and services in the hotels of the sea coast are appreciably worse.

Holidays in Bulgaria: visa-free regime for Schengen owners
The Bulgarian government decided to simplify for many tourists the procedure of entering the country. From now on all people with a valid Schengen visa can go on holiday to Bulgaria without national visa. In such way Bulgaria is preparing its structures for the upcoming country’s entry into the visa-free regime, which today functions between the EU countries. The decision to introduce new visa rules was taken by the Bulgarian cabinet of ministers on Wednesday January 26, 2011. According to the Bulgarian cabinet, the new visa policy will spur the tourist interest and will make Bulgaria more attractive to foreign investors. Schengen visa owners will be able to get permission to enter Bulgaria and stay on its territory for a period of up to 3 months during the six months from the date of first entry. It should be noted that the new visa rules in Bulgaria will be useful not only for the EU citizens, but also tourists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, who have a Schengen visa. New measures, inter alia, must stir up not only the tourism sector, but also resort property market in Bulgaria. Since the beginning of the financial crisis in 2008 leading Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria have marked decreasing of the square meter price. Opportunity to visit the country for Schengen owners will facilitate entry of potential buyers and will indirectly stimulate the demand for Bulgarian property. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, in 2011 its consulates issued in total 733 623 visas, which is by 18% more than in 2010.
