According to the American Express Global Business Travel Forecast 2010 the global tourism industry is showing signs of recovery after surging the global financial crisis. Thus, following the withdrawal of the recession and as the compensation for last year's recession, at the end of 2010 the prices for travels and air flights may rise.
The forecast was made from the research conducted by the eXpert experts team and was submitted to the press on a virtual teleconference, united face to face the reporters from New York (USA), Brighton (UK) and Mexico City (Mexico). As a result of the conference to the audience were presented new options and directions of development of tourism and return on the investments, focusing on increasing the number of trips while maintaining the existing budget.
In сonnection with the general rise of business after the global financial crisis in the coming year is expected a slight increase in ticket prices for business class flights. This is significantly сonnected with the need of airlines to cover their losses, occurred during the recession, which caused the same decline in the tourist area. So analysts said the prices on European flights will increase by 0-2% for economy class and by 5-7% for business class.
In the light of the good news about the recovery of the world economy the other part of the tourist business suffering from a crisis is also seeking compensation and adjust the prices for accommodation in hotels all around the world. However, hotels faced the problem of denial of tourists and business travelers to stay overnight in order to reduce costs. According to the experts the cost of accommodation in hotels will continue to decline throughout the next year. The only exception to the rule will be the Asia-Pacific region, where growth is planned from 2 to 6% regardless of hotel class. European trends remain very attractive for tourists: it is expected that the cost of hotel rooms will range from a decline of 2.5% to 2.5% growth.
The railway transport will recover from the recession longer.
However, the general trend is very positive for the revival of tourism. According to the experts the travelers will be more willing to spend money abroad and prefer to stay for a longer vacation.
