The law is a necessity in any society. It protects us and allows feeling safe. However, traveling around the world, we often face with the amazing, funny or simply senseless laws, which seem to intend to cause confusion or even anger. The famous travel magazine Travel+Leisure has published a list of 10 most strange laws around the world, which will help you to avoid the embarrassing situation in the journey.
10. Grenada. Here you are not allowed to walk in a bathing suit.
You cannot fear while sunbathing and swimming in the clear waters of the Caribbean being dressed even in the most minimalist bathing suit. However, when making a walk through the city or a tour of the coast it is highly recommended to have a certain amount of clothing on you. Bathing suits are permitted in Grenada only on the beach. The use of this type of clothing in public places can release from your wallet for a sum of money at the equivalent of $ 270.
9. Denmark, Czech Republic. You can’t drive a car with turned off headlamps.
Regardless of time of day, weather and your mood when driving a car in Denmark or the Czech Republic, you must turn on the headlights. This rule may seem to someone very strange, but the origin of this law is very reasonably explained: the dip-light helps drivers to be more attentive and can significantly reduce road accidents.
8. Germany. Stops and walks on autobahn are forbidden.
It is recommended to very closely monitor the level of fuel in the gas tank of your car when you drive on magnificent high-speed autobahns of Germany. The stop of your iron horse on the highway because of ending of gasoline may cost you around 100 euros. And pleasant walk to the nearest gas station will cost you additional 100 euros.
7. Italy. Feeding of pigeons is prohibited.
Even if you love birds and are a fierce defender of nature, you shouldn’t feed pigeons in Venice. This law, despite its severity, however, is quite logical: ammonia and uric acid in the feces of the ubiquitous pigeons mutilate magnificent monuments of Italy. Thus, if you decide to feed pigeons on Piazza San Marco, be prepared to pay from 60 to 600 euros for a lunch.
