July will bring to Russian tourists not only long-awaited vacations and beautiful sunny days, but also changes in customs legislation. According to information provided by the Federal Customs Service of Russia from July 1 will enter into force the new customs regulations.
New rules for baggage allowance for personal use will come into force on 1 July 2010 on the territory of the Customs Union, which includes Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. According to the Head of the Main Department of Federal Customs Revenue and tariff regulation of the Federal Customs Service Valeriy Reshetnikov, new customs duties will significantly facilitate the life of travelers.
According to the amended legislation individuals can move through customs duty free things for personal use, the value of which is no more than 1500 euros (about 55,000 rubles) and weighing no more than 50 kg. This means that under the new rules tourists will be able to import duty free up to 50 kg of various personal items in their own baggage, instead of 35 kilograms. In case of exceeding the norms, a person must pay customs duty of 30% of the cost of goods, but not less than 4 euros per kilo.
According to the Federal Customs Service significant changes were made in the rules and regulations for import of alcohol, tobacco, fish and seafood. Were altered the rules for import of vehicles and fuels. Were considerably simplified rules of registration of such personal luxury vehicles as yachts, helicopters and airplanes.
In particular in the countries of the Customs Union will be introduced the single customs declaration form - passenger customs declaration. Representatives of the Federal Customs Service said that the rest part of the procedure for customs clearance of passengers will remain unchanged.
