Croatia has banned repairing of roads

Croatia has banned repairing of roads
During the holiday season Croatia will stop repairing of roads

In Croatia came into effect a ban on construction and repairing works on the roads during the summer tourist season. Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of Croatia ordered to stop all construction works on the major highways of Dalmatia and Istria from June 11, 2011 until September 18, 2011.

For Croatia, this ban has already become a tradition. In such way the authorities are trying to normalize functioning of the road transport system during the growing seasonal load. Caravanning is extremely popular in Croatia. Network of quality roads and campgrounds can be found all over the Adriatic coast, from Pula to Dubrovnik.

Since June 11 all construction companies are forbidden to work on weekends and Fridays, as well as on holidays, except from emergency road repairs. The ban will also not operate on Croatian highways, where have already begun restoring works.

Croatia today is one of regional leaders by the number of car tourists. Coastline of the country now offers an extensive network of camping sites, which quality can attract not only budget travelers, but also the middle class. The average daily cost of staying in the camp in Croatia is about 25-40 euros.

Thanks to the stretched coast, travelling by car in Croatia is very exciting. Today, in the country operate dozens of car rental services. The most popular of them are: Adriatica, AMC Rent A Car, Best Buy Rent, Best Rent Dubrovnik, EasyRent, E-Sixt and Hertz. Tourists are also offered special services, where they are able to rent trailers - Uni-Rent. Offices of these companies may be found at big resorts and in airports.

Modern highways that connect the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, with such resorts as Zadar, Rijeka, Split and Pula are among the most advanced motorways in the Balkans.
