The first high-speed trains, made by famous South Korean company Hyundai, will surf the Ukraine in spring 2012. According to the information provided by Ukrainian Railways, high-speed rail service will practically start fully operate in the country until international football championship Euro-2012.
According to the Ukrainian Railways representative, the first test of the new high-speed trains by Hyundai for Ukraine will be held at the builder in South Korea no later than February. On the Ukrainian territory the first test of the new railway vehicles will be held in mid-spring in the South Railroad.
To date is completed a schedule of training of Ukrainian railway specialists, who will serve Hyundai trains in Ukraine, and is being created a base depot for high-speed trains.
According to the information provided by the Ukrainian Railways, under the contract signed in 2010 with Hyundai, Ukraine will receive 10 new high-speed trains of the South Korean company for 240 million euros. Each high-speed train will consist of nine carriages with total capacity of 579 seats.
At the moment are already fully developed both internal and external design of the new trains, which will carry passengers in Ukraine for minimum time. According to the preliminary data, high-speed railway link will allow getting from the Ukrainian capital Kiev to Lviv in just 4.5 hours.
