The Ukrainian government has confirmed the information on establishing visa-free regime for the Ukrainian citizens traveling to Turkey.
Visa-free regime will be applied to the Ukrainian citizens entering the territory of Turkey with valid travel documents. Visa-free regime will be provided for the total period not exceeding 90 days within six months, and not exceeding 30 days of continuous stay since the moment of entry.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Grishenko, the agreement on visa-free regime between Ukraine and Turkey will enter into force in three months and the Ukrainians will be able to spend a holiday in Turkey without stress and extra fees for visas.
At the moment Turkey is the most popular country of inbound tourism among the Ukrainian citizens. For example, last year Turkey was visited by more than half a million Ukrainians, while the Ukraine was visited by just over 30,000 tourists from Turkey.
According to the preliminary opinion, abolition of visa regime between Turkey and Ukraine in the first place will significantly increase the tourist flow of Ukrainian tourists traveling on vacations.
Abolition of visa regime should also take effect on tourist flow from Turkey to Ukraine. So, Turkish citizens will be able to avoid the long process of obtaining a Ukrainian visa, which lasts about two weeks and save up to USD 200.
