History
In the wider area around Barysaw, a memorial complex marks the crossing of the Berezina associated with Napoleon's campaign of 1812; in Studenka, the locations of the two bridges built at that time are marked on the left bank of the river. The preserved Barysaw railway station building was constructed in 1914 and was the only two-story railway station building on the 200-kilometer railway line between Minsk and Orsha. Barysaw Batteries includes an observation platform, an obelisk commemorating soldiers, and mortars.
Sports
Borisov Arena is a major local football attraction and the home stadium of the renowned football club FC BATE Borisov. It offers more than 13,000 seats and meets the requirements of UEFA stadium category four. Guided tours are offered at Borisov Arena and may include visits to the football team's changing rooms, the bench, and the VIP lounge.
Nature
The Gaina–Berezina water route runs from Logoysk to Barysaw. It ends after 105.5 kilometers at a bay next to Barysaw railway station. The upstream starting point of the Berezina water route at Veselovo can be reached by bus from Barysaw.
Events
On February 21, the traditional folk festival «Душа наша, Масленица!» took place in Barysaw at Borisov Arena. The public games and competitions included tug-of-war and Maslenitsa races.
