Water

A first-category water-tour route leads via the Degtjarewka Canal to Lake Lisno and onward along the Svolna. The Degtjarewka Canal connects Lake Lisno with Lake Oswejskoje. The Svolna River flows through Lisno.

The water tour covered 114 kilometers and lasted 10 days in total. Near Lisno, there was an equipped rest area with food huts, firewood sheds, fire pits with benches, toilets, waste containers, and an electricity connection. Lisno was listed on the water-tour route as an opportunity to replenish food supplies.

Nature

Lisno and its surroundings form a natural and historical complex with forests, lakes, marshes, and protected landscapes. Lake Lisno is part of the republican landscape reserve “Krasny Bor.”

The shores of Lake Lisno alternate between steep slopes up to 30 meters high and marshy floodplains. The large island of Lisnjanski lies in the southern part of Lake Lisno. Along Lake Lisno, there is a 100–200-meter-wide belt of shoreline vegetation that creates favorable conditions for fish and birds.

Motorboats may not be used on Lake Lisno outside specially designated areas.

Activities

Guided tours, hiking, and fishing are possible in Lisno and its surroundings. Recreational fishing is possible in Lake Lisno; the fish species mentioned there include bream, tench, perch, pike, pike-perch, and carp. Among others, goosanders, Savi’s warblers, and grey herons can be observed at Lake Lisno. Lake Lisno is suitable for boating with kayaks and catamarans.

Cycling and Trails

The Werchnedwinsk–Polazk–Rossony–Lisno–Kurgan Druschby–Werchnedwinsk cycling circuit is 280 kilometers long and takes five days. The extension of the cycling tour from Lisno to the “Krasny Bor” landscape reserve follows forest roads; some sections may be difficult to ride on in a dry summer because of sand.
