Culture and History

Stubički Golubovec Castle is a late Baroque castle in Donja Stubica, considered one of Croatia’s most valuable castles and designated as a cultural and natural asset of national importance. Its landscaped grounds include a northern park, western and southern park forests, and the meadows of Vilinske poljane.

The Church of the Holy Trinity has a 15th-century Gothic sanctuary with preserved 15th-century wall paintings. It has been documented in Donja Stubica since 1346 and preserves historical liturgical objects, including a 16th-century chalice and a 19th-century monstrance.

Likovna galerija Drempetić has been active in Donja Stubica since 1988. Eugen Viktor Feller owned the Holy Trinity pharmacy in Donja Stubica in 1899. The Neo-Baroque Feller Laboratory Factory building was placed under protection in 1994; as early as 1901, Feller had a factory laboratory established in a newly built Neo-Baroque building next to the church.

Seljačka Buna – Bitka kod Stubice is a historical reenactment held annually at the beginning of February in connection with Donja Stubica. In the 2026 edition, the 1573 uprising was reenacted in the town center.
