Donji Vidovec is described as the current centre of gold panning in Međimurje. Visitors can experience a gold-panning demonstration on the banks of the Drava. Every year on 15 June, the town celebrates its Municipality Day; annual local traditional events include the Vidovo Festival of Folklore and Tradition. The statues of the Holy Trinity in Donji Vidovec are in the Classicist style and date from 1792.
Nature
In the centre of Donji Vidovec, a protected oak tree stands in front of the parish church of Saint Vitus. The church is late Baroque and dates from the 18th century; locals call the oak Arpad.
Cuisine
Vidovski kotlić is a traditional May Day event held near the RibiÄki dom in Donji Vidovec. Visitors receive free bean dishes and grilled fish there. At the Festival of Old Gold Miners’ Dishes 2026, visitors were able to sample traditional local specialities. According to the festival description, traditional dishes prepared according to old recipes are presented at this festival.
