Aljmaš: Hotels and Accommodation

Aljmaš is located at the confluence of the Drava and Danube rivers, giving it a riverside location. Those wishing to book a hotel in Aljmaš can then continue their accommodation search.

Nature

The Podunavski pješački put begins at Mišino brdo near Aljmaš, passes through Aljmaš, follows the Danube and ends in Erdut. The full route takes approximately five hours and runs through terrain that is not particularly demanding technically or physically. It is intended for hikers, nature lovers and tourists, not only for the organising association. The route also includes the ascent to the Kalvarija viewpoint.

Culture

The Memorial Centre is located below the Aljmaš Kalvarija in a former military bunker. Visitors can independently view sacred, local and artistic works, historical documents, thematic displays and two chapels there. A permanent exhibition displays paintings and sculptures created by academic painters and sculptors during the Croatian War of Independence.

The church in Aljmaš is a cultural monument. Its restored statue of the Virgin Mary returned to Aljmaš in 1998, and the restoration of the church was completed in 2007. The Gospe od Utočišta shrine in Aljmaš became a well-known shrine in 1704. Pilgrimages to the Svetište Aljmaš can be organised on any day of the year.

Gospa pod Lipom owes its name to the linden trees planted around a chapel near a water source. The excursion destination is reached through a centuries-old oak forest.

Regional offerings

The old branch of the Drava, which flows into the Danube near Aljmaš, is described as an excellent sport-fishing waterway. The local tourism offering includes traditional food and drinks from the Danube region: these include catfish perkelt with cheese pasta, homemade rakija and liqueurs, cakes and pastries.

VINCENT is a winery excursion destination in Aljmaš with a capacity for 50 visitors.
