Topusko: Hotels and Accommodation

Topusko has an easy 5.3-kilometre circular route through the town. It begins at Top-Terme and passes the English Park, Jupiter's Altar, Opatovina Park, the Gothic portal and Mollinary Spring, as well as the Catholic and Orthodox churches. Culture

The cultural and historical ensemble of Topusko is classified as protected cultural heritage under designation Z-4136. The Opatovina Portal preserves the only surviving Gothic church façade of the Cistercian abbey of Topusko; it is 23 metres high.

Opatovina Park contains the remains of an archaeological monument associated with the Gothic entrance portal of the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Kamena Spomenica preserves names, initials, years and other markings carved into the living rock on Babićev brijeg. The names Blatne and Crijetne Kupke refer to the thermal mud and peat used for treatments.

Nature

Part of the protected significant landscape of Petrova Gora lies within the municipality of Topusko and is preserved for its forest habitat and landscape-historical values. Nikolino brdo is a wooded hill, 184 metres high, in the centre of Topusko. Stone remains and depressions associated with a fortified town attributed to King Andrew II have been preserved there.

Thermal Water

Lječilište Topusko uses thermal water from three main springs and several smaller springs to treat injuries and diseases of the locomotor system, nervous system and musculoskeletal system. The Top-Terme pool complex comprises five thermal-water pools of varying depths and temperatures.

Getting Around

According to the destination plan, the Topusko–Ponikvari–Topusko cycling route is 6.7 kilometres long and takes less than an hour. The Biciklijada “Putevima bana Jelačića” cycling event takes place annually in the Topusko destination area. The centre of Topusko has landscaped park areas.

Culinary

Restaurants from Topusko have participated in a programme of traditional Croatian flavours, offering special menus with at least three courses and a glass of a local drink.
