Trpinja lies in the typical Pannonian lowlands and has a temperate continental climate. The watercourses provide a clear geographical orientation: the Vuka crosses the municipality for 8 km, and the Bobotski Canal for 20 km.

The HR2001045 Trpinja Natura 2000 site is also among the defining features of the landscape. It covers 5.1567 ha and is designated as a protected area for species and habitat types.

The Crkva Vaznesenja Gospodnjeg stands in Trpinja. It was built in 1755 in the late Baroque style. The single-nave building has a semicircular apse and a bell tower that projects from the main façade in the form of a risalit. “Single-nave” refers to the church’s single longitudinal space; the apse forms its semicircular end. These descriptions make it possible to understand the documented architectural features without in-depth knowledge of architecture.

In Bobota, the Crkva Velikomučenika Georgija is designated as an immovable cultural property. The church was built in 1789. Another heritage site is in Bršadin: the Pašnjak pod selom archaeological site is also designated as an immovable cultural property within the Općina Trpinja. It is located in the bed of the Vuka, south of Bršadin’s town center.

A municipal strategy from 2020 describes several cultural events as being held annually at that time. These include the three-day Međunarodni Vidovdanski sabor in Bobota, which had been organized every June since 1981 by the “Đoko Patković” cultural and artistic association. For Bobota, Trpinja and Bršadin, the strategy also describes an exhibition of handicrafts and antiques that had been held annually since 2013. The offerings included demonstration workshops for all exhibition visitors, as well as presentations of old tools and crafts. According to the description, the international folklore event “Đeram – deca čuvari tradicije” had been held annually in Trpinja and Bršadin since 2016. This included program exchanges with groups from neighboring countries and at least one guest event each year.

The strategy also describes the Međunarodni susreti dramskih amatera – MESDAM in Pačetin as an annual theater event, stating that it began in 2003 and was organized by the “Branko Radičević” cultural and artistic association. These stated schedules are historical information, not a guarantee of current dates.

The municipal program from 2021 described the road network as comprising two state roads, two county roads and six local roads. There is a railway station in Bršadin; bus stops were listed for Trpinja, Bobota, Pačetin, Vera, Ludvinci and Ćelije. Check current train connections and bus timetables before traveling.
