The parish church of St. Roch in Luka is a single-nave Gothic building and is listed as a regional cultural monument; the parish house stands next to it. After three years of consultations, the new parish church was built in the centre of Luka. The documented construction history states that the foundation stone was laid in 1860 and that the church was listed as a regional cultural monument in 2004. At the same time, the Church of St. Roch is described as a neo-Gothic church completed in 1864, as well as one of the largest religious buildings in the Zaprešić area.

The festival “Posvetilo” dates back to the consecration of the Church of St. Roch on 18 August 1864 by Zagreb Bishop Josip Mihalović. Following the consecration of the church, the parish of St. Roch in Luka received the festival “Posvetila”. The “Posvetilo” festival in Luka is attended by pilgrims from the surrounding area and beyond.

Festivals

The “Rokovski kjeden” event takes place in Luka on the occasion of the feast of St. Roch and Rokovsko Posvetilo. It is celebrated with the traditional prošenje at the feast of St. Roch and at Rokovsko Posvetilo. In the centre of Luka, the event features a festival tent with entertainment and music, as well as food and drinks; there is also a carousel and street stalls selling gingerbread hearts, toys and other goods.

Cycling

In the Municipality of Luka, residents and visitors have access to a Nextbike system with public bicycles for everyday journeys. The “Plava ruta” cycling route runs through western Zagorje to the Sutla Valley and begins in a car park in the centre of Luka at Trg sv. Roka.

On the “Plava ruta”, after the junction with the main Zaprešić–Kupljenovo–Luka road, the route leads straight back to the starting point in Luka. The Kupljenovo–Luka–Dubravica–Marija Gorica–Pušća cycling route runs from Kupljenovo via Luka along the Zaprešić–Luka–Veliko Trgovišće road.

On the Kupljenovo–Luka–Dubravica–Marija Gorica–Pušća cycling route, cyclists turn right at the junction by Buffet Pođunđek and the bus stop onto Lučka cesta, continue into the centre of Luka and, 200 m after the Church of St. Roch, turn left off the main road into Ulica Andrije Majdaka.
