Brna: Hotels and Accommodation
Brna is located on the southern side of Korčula in a sunny bay surrounded by lush pine forests. The deep, sheltered bay provides a safe haven for boats of all kinds. In addition to pine forests, the surrounding area also features olive groves, citrus and fig trees, as well as vineyards.
Coast and Water
Brna’s sheltered bay is ideal for sailing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, as well as boat excursions to nearby islands. Kayak tours are also available to explore the hidden coves around Brna. Fishing is a regular activity in Brna Bay.
Brna’s beaches include Žal, a shallow and tranquil beach next to a children’s playground, and Istruga, a wide, shallow bay about a ten-minute walk from the centre of Brna. It features healing mud, swimming facilities, tennis courts and a footpath towards Pinčena. Istruga Bay also has two tennis courts, located just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Brna.
Nature
The hiking trail to Istruga Bay leads from Smokvica to Brna and then onwards to Istruga. A 5 km-long trail through Brna reaches the Veliki Zaglav viewpoint and returns towards the sea via an olive grove.
Culture and Gastronomy
Brna was founded in the 19th century as an export port for wines from Smokvica. At a restaurant, visitors can enjoy local Pošip wine while looking out over Brna Bay.
Active Holidays
Near Brna, 5 km away, is PDC (Ronilački centar Prišćapac). The diving centre offers beginner courses and daily dives for experienced divers. Cyclists can take a circular route from Smokvica through Brna and back. Another circular route leads through Smokvica, Brna, Prižba and Prišćapac.
