Vrata: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes is located in Vrata. Its construction began in 1929 and was completed in July 1932. The church features a neo-Gothic altar with a statue brought from Lourdes, as well as a larchwood ceiling.

Culture and History

The Fajeri Route can be extended to Fajere, where visitors can see the stone remains of an old bridge on Karolina Road. A further extension leads to Gornja Slavica, where the stone remains of a settlement can be found. Nearby, the Caroline Educational Mountain Garden conveys regional gardening traditions, cultural heritage and customs through educational activities and workshops.

Hiking and Cycling

Vrata is the starting point of a 13-kilometre MTB route that runs mainly on gravel, has a total elevation gain of 480 metres and is classified as easy to moderately difficult. The Vrata Entertainment and Paintball Centre is included along the route as a point of interest.

The MTB Route 705 Vidikovac Preradović passes through Vrata and continues along the railway line towards Belo Selo. Nearby, it passes the Caroline Educational Mountain Garden before leading back towards the Gmajna Sports and Recreation Centre. The Camino Gorski Kotar route also passes through Vrata. In the wider region, this route runs from Vrbovsko to Trsat along natural paths and past important cultural and religious sights.

Leisure

Paintball Park Vrata is located in the village of Vrata, within the municipality of Fužine, and offers ziplining. The Gmajna Sports and Recreation Centre is also located in Vrata. Sanjkalište Vrata offers summer tobogganing; the tubing track is available to children aged four and over. Group visits to the tubing track can be arranged in advance. Paintball Park Vrata can be reached from the Rijeka–Zagreb motorway via the Vrata exit.
