Near Kastav lie the Loza and Lužina forests. They contain diverse forest vegetation, karst rock formations, depressions and sinkholes, as well as the rocky peaks of Majev vrh, Stanić and Mačkov vrh. The Jantarski put is designated as part of the European long-distance hiking route E6.

Kastav's largest cave extends for more than 540 metres and reaches a depth of 101 metres. Access is currently restricted exclusively to speleologists.
