Culture

The All Saints Parish Church in Hrvace was built between 1866 and 1871 next to an older church, whose chancel has been preserved as a burial chapel. The church contains a revered image of Our Lady of Sorrows, an altarpiece by the Venetian painter Francesco Maggiotto, and stained-glass windows by the artist Ivan Grgat. On Krinj Hill in Hrvace lie the ruins of the Church of Saint George, as well as the remains of several burial sites, some of which contain stećci.

Klapa Hrvace is a music section of the Hrvace Cultural Society. The Municipality of Hrvace designated 15 September as Municipal Day in connection with the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows and has held ceremonies on this occasion.

Nature

Hrvace is located on the D1 road between Sinj and Knin. The settlement has 52 drinking-water springs. Miloševo is one of the two small lakes identified in Hrvace. The two lakes below Krinj are collectively known within the municipality as Stipančevo, Miloševo, or Slano jezero. The Municipality of Hrvace includes areas within Croatia’s Natura 2000 ecological network.

In Dabar, within the Municipality of Hrvace, the Braniteljska zadruga Patriot cooperative for adventure tourism is located next to Lake Peruća.

Crafts and Associations

In Potravlje, within the Municipality of Hrvace, traditional pottery, woodworking, and blacksmithing, as well as gusle and diple playing, continue to be practised. Traditional pottery made on a hand-operated wheel has been preserved there as a local craft and also includes souvenir items. Petra Vukman’s private ethnographic collection in Hrvace contains objects that were formerly used in everyday life and for traditional crafts.

The Galopski klub “Vreba” is associated with the address Hrvace 7. The Konjički klub “Vreba” in Hrvace has been documented as an organiser of gallop races. It has also been documented that the Konjički klub “Vreba” in Hrvace organised a riding school.
