Studenci: Hotels and Accommodations

Studenci is characterized by numerous natural springs; the settlement extends across the surrounding hills and valleys. There are small springs around the fields of Studenci. Some springs temporarily form watercourses after heavy winter rains.

Nature

The Zvizda archaeological site is a stećci cemetery dating from the 15th century; it lies next to the Zvizda spring, west of the Studenci–Podgreda road.

Culture

Mala Gradina preserves ramparts on its eastern and western sides, reaching approximately 5–6 meters in height. Ceramic finds indicate that Mala Gradina was used from the 9th or 8th to the 4th or 3rd century BC.

The medieval cemetery in Šakići is located at the eastern entrance to the hamlet, on the south side of the road. It preserves seven rough slabs or coffin-shaped stones and one stećak with a gabled form. The present-day parish church of Saint Elias in Studenci was built between 1872 and 1879. The year 1758 is still preserved in the sacristy of the first church.

Festivals

Ilina is celebrated in Studenci every year on July 20 as the feast of Saint Elias. The celebration includes liturgical activities, cultural programs, sports competitions, and a public festival. Ilina brings together the residents of Studenci and people who return to the village for several days.

Local Specialties

The production of Studenački cheese in Dvorine dates back to 1962, when a dairy was built in Studenci. Studenački pršut is traditionally dried on the bone, cold-smoked with selected woods, and cured with sea salt.
