Split: Hotels and Accommodation
Split combines culture, nature and a city beach. Those wishing to book a hotel in Split can continue searching for accommodation afterwards.
Culture
Below Marjan Hill, the Meštrović Gallery is located in the former residence of Ivan Meštrović. His sculptures made of marble, bronze, wood and plaster are displayed in the villa and Mediterranean gardens. The ruins of Diocletian's Palace, built between the late 3rd and early 4th centuries AD, can be found throughout Split.
The cathedral in Split's protected historic complex was built in the Middle Ages using materials from the ancient mausoleum. The cellars of Diocletian's Palace are among the best-preserved ancient complexes of their kind and helped ensure that Split's historic centre was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
The Poljud Stadium tour tells the story of Hajduk Split, from its founding in Prague to the celebration of its centenary. The tour includes the trophy hall, as well as photo opportunities in the press room, VIP box and on the pitch. The Hajduk Split stadium tour also includes a visit to Poljud Stadium.
Nature
Marjan rises above Split to a height of up to 178 metres and connects the urban city with a peninsula of almost untouched nature. Marjan can be reached directly from Split's Riva and has viewpoints overlooking Split and the islands.
Marjan has nature trails and fitness trails for walks and relaxation. The Sedlo Observatory in Marjan Forest Park is a visitor attraction with a lift and has been adapted for people with disabilities. From there, the view extends across the whole of Split and the surrounding area.
The Marjan audio guide includes a map with 51 points of interest, trails and geolocation functions for tracking direction and movement.
City Life
Bačvice is a sandy beach in the city centre next to the city harbour and can accommodate more than ten thousand bathers. Picigin is played there regularly in both summer and winter.
