Coast and beaches

Plaža Dražica has been awarded the Blue Flag, which indicates high standards for the cleanliness of the sea, environmental protection and safety. A pine forest stretches along the coast at Plaža Dražica and provides natural shade. Plaža Soline features pebble and sandy areas as well as a designated swimming area and is located in a pine forest. At Plaža Soline, there are pedal boats, kayaks and a water park. Soline Bay can be reached by car or on foot via the Dražice coastal promenade.

Nature and culture

The Zavičajni muzej Biograd na Moru local history museum preserves the tangible and intangible heritage of Biograd na Moru and its surroundings; its collection “Teret potopljenog broda iz XVI. st.” comprises more than 40,000 objects salvaged from a merchant ship that sank in the 16th century.

The Biosfera Interpretation Centre in Biograd na Moru is dedicated to preserving and promoting the natural heritage of this area. Through interactive exhibitions, multimedia presentations and educational content, it provides knowledge about the natural resources of Biograd na Moru and the surrounding areas.

History

The Benedictine monastery of Sv. Ivana Evanđelista in Biograd na Moru was founded in February 1060 by the Croatian King Petar Krešimir IV. The Basilica of Sv. Ivana Evanđelista, together with the associated Benedictine monastery, was located in the centre of Biograd na Moru. The imposing Basilica of Sv. Ivana Evanđelista was built next to the Benedictine monastery in the 11th century.

Leisure and activities

Dalmaland is a theme and water park with four themed areas: Pirate City, Wild West, Space and Water World. Dalmaland has more than 40 attractions, including the Big blue, Alien and Mine train coaster roller coasters, the Adria Eye Ferris wheel, bumper cars, carousels, a wave pool, slides and children's areas.

A 17.2 km trekking route starts in Biograd na Moru, leads to Fun Park near Biograd and continues towards Vransko jezero.

Marina Kornati has 15 fully equipped piers with 750 berths as well as electricity and water connections. More than 40 national and international regattas in all classes take place annually at Marina Kornati.
