History
The Church of St. Wenceslas in Ryžovna was built in the Josephine style at the beginning of the 19th century. A memorial cross, a miniature of the Church of St. Wenceslas, and a memorial plaque on a stone embankment mark its former location.
Every year, St. Wenceslas gatherings are held in Ryžovna on the occasion of the Feast of St. Wenceslas. The Ryžovna war memorial to those who fell in the First World War was erected in 1930 and commemorates a total of 42 soldiers from Ryžovna who fell, died, or went missing.
Ryžovna was founded around the middle of the 16th century. The village received its name from the washing of tin ore from gravelly sediment.
Routes
Ryžovna can be reached on foot, by bicycle, or by car via a tourist route.
The Cínová stezka, known in German as Zinnweg, runs between Boží Dar and Ryžovna. It was created as a symbol of cross-border cooperation between the Czech Republic and Saxony. The Cínová stezka project aimed to preserve, protect, and further develop the natural and cultural heritage, as well as improve the tourist infrastructure for visitors in the Central Ore Mountains.
A roughly 12-kilometre-long educational trail with 23 stations runs along the Blatenský vodní příkop. The Blatenský vodní příkop ran on its route from the Božídarské rašeliniště via Myslivny and Ryžovna to Bludná.
