Častolovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Častolovice lies in a small hollow crossed by a stream, in a natural rural setting. The centre is home to the Baroque Chapel of the Holy Trinity, built in 1797. It has a hexagonal wooden bell tower with one bell and stands next to a bus stop northwest of the main road.

Culture

The monument to those killed in the First and Second World Wars is located in the village centre. In the eastern part of Častolovice, there is a cross at a crossroads, while a column dedicated to Saint Procopius stands on the southern edge of the village. A column shrine with a prismatic chapel stands on a stone base.

Landscape

Špičák, a mountain, is located in the vicinity of Častolovice. The surrounding area also includes the mountains Kozel, Klič and Malý Buk.

History

The wider regional surroundings of Častolovice include the ruins of Starý Berštejn, the Chapel of the Holy Trinity and the historic site of Hirniskretzschen. The cemetery in Častolovice is considered completely destroyed; there are also removed graves and remnants of gravestones.

Getting Around

A 50.03 km cycling route runs from Holany via Sloup and Častolovice. Railway line 080 from Česká Lípa to Nový Bor passes near Častolovice; however, the village has no railway station.
