Culture and History

In the forest on the western edge of the Pavlov municipal area, in the cadastral territory of Pavlov u Loštic, lie the remains of the vanished settlement and fortress of Střítež. Střítež once had a church. From the mid-14th century onward, Střítež Fortress belonged to the estate of Vraní Hora Castle. Near Střítež there is a stone Stations of the Cross with a Marian chapel dating from 1840.

According to tradition, the Celtic population built a hillfort, or oppidum, on the nearby hill of Obersko. In Pavlov u Loštic, a sculpture group called Calvary can be seen. Cyril and Methodius are depicted on the pedestal of the sculpture group; the front also features Saint Procopius.
