Culture

The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Choustník was originally Gothic and was founded in the 14th century. It was destroyed during the Hussite Wars and rebuilt between 1673 and 1687. It is a single-nave church with a tower on the west side.

Church services are held in the church on Sundays at 11 a.m., as well as on Wednesdays and Fridays; in winter, weekday Masses begin at 3:30 p.m.

Choustník Castle is an extensive ruin with massive walls and two square palace towers. One of the towers was converted into a lookout tower offering good views over the Soběslavsko and Táborsko regions.

The Medieval Festival at Choustník Castle on August 9, 2025 featured historical fencing, historical dancing, falconry, and craft demonstrations. A spacious park adjoins the castle.
