Hojná Voda is situated in a mountain saddle between Vysoká and Kraví hora. The Hojná Voda National Nature Monument protects the remains of an original, primeval forest-like woodland that has been left to develop naturally. The Hojná Voda National Nature Monument has been under special protection since August 28, 1838.

Nature and Landscape

Trails and Views

The Hojná Voda educational trail begins at the Hospodárná forest road, which is connected to the local Dobrá Voda–Hojná Voda road. The observation platform on Kraví hora is 24 metres high and can be reached via a spiral staircase with 130 steps; from the observation platform, there is a view of the Novohradské hory and, in particularly clear weather, as far as the Alps.

Culture and History

At the end of the 16th century, Hojná Voda had two bathhouses and a church. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Hojná Voda has a balustrade and the remains of an alms column.

The former bakery in Hojná Voda is a single-storey L-shaped house that was converted into its present form in the first half of the 19th century. A chapel in Hojná Voda stands in the centre of the village below the former church and in the immediate vicinity of the St. Anne Spring.

The Setkávání bell hangs in a so-called Sun Gate structure in the open countryside and was donated by the Perner bell foundry.
