Nové Domky: Hotels and Accommodation

Nové Domky is located on the right bank of the Lipno Reservoir. After crossing the dam, the ROAD 4 – Kolem Lipna road cycling route passes through the locality. Travellers choosing Nové Domky as their destination may wish to book a hotel.

Nature

The regional biocorridor RBK 3054 Čertovo kopyto–Předmostí runs through the locality of Nové Domky. From a nature conservation perspective, Nové Domky is considered a valuable area. The extensive regional biocentre RBC 557 Čertovo kopyto has been designated nearby.

The Čertova stěna–Luč National Nature Reserve is located in the municipality of Loučovice and features a unique stone sea and the romantic valley of the Vltava. The Čertovo kopyto rock formation is a remarkable yet little-known place in the vicinity of the Lipno Reservoir. Its name derives from a boulder that perfectly resembles a hoof.

Cycling and Hiking

Čertovo kopyto can be reached from the car park at the Lipno Reservoir dam via a blue-marked hiking trail. The first section of the ROAD 5 – Do Krumlova road cycling route is identical to ROAD 4 – Kolem Lipna and therefore also includes the section through Nové Domky.

History

The historic settlement of Nové Domky consisted predominantly of smallholders’ homesteads. After the expulsion of the original population after the war, Nové Domky was partially resettled. However, the construction of the Lipno Reservoir and the subsequent establishment of the border zone led to the almost complete end of permanent settlement.

Lippnerschwebe, known in Czech as Lipenský zdvih, was a former loggers’ meadow with a nearby terminus railway station of the same name and formed a separate historic part of the Nové Domky settlement. The former historic locality of the original settlement on the right bank is now completely submerged beneath the waters of the Lipno Reservoir. The historic name Neuhäusel was first used for Nové Domky in 1710.

Apartmány HÁJOVNA is situated on a hill, offering panoramic views of the Lipno Reservoir and the surrounding nature. Apartmány HÁJOVNA is located 1.5 km from the Lipno Reservoir dam in the Nové Domky locality, in the direction of Přední Výtoň.
