Culture

The Great KurultĂĄj usually takes place in Bugac every two years. The tribal assembly is associated with preserving ancient Hunnic-Turkic traditions. For travellers interested in preserving these traditions, this is a specific cultural point of reference.

The wider Bugac Puszta is described as the largest of seven separate units of KiskunsĂĄg National Park.

The landscape around Bugac includes wind-shaped sand dunes that cover several square kilometres and are between 10 and 50 metres high.

Archaeological excavations in the Bugac Puszta uncovered a large basilica and most of what was presumably a Benedictine monastery; the site has been identified as Pétermonostora.

For comparison with other places, you can also view TiszaalpĂĄr, FĂŒlöpjakab, KunszĂĄllĂĄs, PĂĄlmonostora and PetƑfiszĂĄllĂĄs.
