The most significant sight in Nagymágocs is Károlyi Castle, built in the late 19th century. The park is freely accessible, while the interior of the building can only be visited with permission. Károlyi Castle and its associated buildings were constructed in 1896–1897 in an eclectic neo-Baroque style. Despite later additions and the demolition of individual sections, they have largely been preserved in their original condition.

The first floor of Károlyi Castle contains a chapel with a black-and-white tiled marble floor, ceiling stucco, and a marble altar. It was established in memory of the deceased young son of the count’s family. The park of Károlyi Castle also contains a small pet cemetery with the graves of the count’s favorite dogs, as well as a memorial stone for his favorite horse.

Landscape

The 41-hectare park of Károlyi Castle contains valuable old oak trees, conifers, and Baroque statues from the 18th century. The design elements mentioned there include the “Rape of the Sabine Women” fountain, designed after a Parisian model, the “Boy with Fish” fountain, and the “Four Seasons” sculptural group.
