In the wider regional surroundings of Khromtau are Khrebet Katynadyr, Gora Katynadyr, Gora Shilikti, and the Razvaliny Shol’kuduk.

Near Khromtau, the Aidarlyasha geomorphological outcrop exposes 40 layers of the Earth’s crust along 1.5 kilometers of riverbank and forms a cliff up to 50 meters high. In 1996, the Aidarlyasha stratotype received worldwide status for preserving traces of the Carboniferous and Permian systems. The Aidarlyasha section was added to Kazakhstan’s republican list of specially protected areas in 2005.

The Kenshiler Alley in Khromtau is included in a municipal greening program for planting and maintaining lawns, perennial grasses, and flowerbeds.

Culture

Near Khromtau, the Oysylkara burial site in the Aktobe Region is listed as one of the nationally significant sacred sites. An exhibition at the Khromtau District Museum displayed 500 artifacts. Baursak, zhent, kurt, ayran, kumis, and shubat were served at a celebration of the Oysylkara Orda.

The interior and walls of the NÅ«r Mosque in Khromtau District are decorated with Kazakh ornamental patterns. The Khromtau District House of Culture operates within a district network of 13 club institutions.
