Culture

The Kyzylorda Open University Museum displays a panorama entitled “Kazakh village in Zhailau.” It also presents Kazakh traditions and customs alongside a photo exhibition on the history of Kazakh yurts.

The Aitbay Mosque was built in 1878 and is described as a 19th-century monument. Since independence, it has been a place of prayer for Muslims. The church building on Toktybayev Street is the main place of Christian worship in Kyzylorda.

Several monuments add to the city’s cultural character: the monument to Jalantos Bakhadur was unveiled in 2010 on Zhibek Zholy Street in Kyzylorda. The monument to Bukharbai Estekbayuly was erected in 2012, and the monument to Zhankozha Nurmukhameduly in 2014. The monument to Mustafa Shokay was erected in 2018. The monument to Batyrkhan Shukenov was also created in 2018 in B. Shukenov Park.

Leisure

Central Park features a Ferris wheel, a skate park, and various rides. The Kyzylorda Philharmonic hosts concerts of Kazakh and international music at the Palace of Arts.

The First President’s Park stretches along the embankment of the Syrdarya River. Kyzylorda Railway Station is a historic landmark and was built in 1905. The S. Aitbayev Art Gallery is located at 2/1 Isa-Toktybayev Street, near Korkyt-Ata Park.
