Aksay: Hotels and Accommodations

Bukharbay Batyr, formerly known as Aksay, is located 13 kilometers south of Zhalagash on the left bank of the Syr Darya. Those wishing to book a hotel in Aksay can then continue searching for accommodation.

Geographical Location

The village is connected to other settlements by a district-level road. In the wider regional area of the Qyzylorda Region, Aksay is mentioned among the preserved former channels of the Syr Darya. The surrounding area therefore has a historical landscape connection to the river.

History

The settlement developed from 1930 onward as the Kalinin collective farm. It received its current name, Bukharbay Batyr, in 1993; the village was known as Aksay until 1997.

Culture

The Bukharbay Batyr Museum was rebuilt in 2012. It is a branch of the district museum of history and local lore and was opened in 1994 on a community basis. Its exhibition comprises six components. A mosque named after Bukharbay was built for local residents.

There are two archaeological settlements from the 6th to 9th centuries in the immediate vicinity. Sorlyasar is located 3 kilometers southeast of Bukharbay Batyr village. Kara-asar, also called Unnamed Asar, is located 3 kilometers northwest of Bukharbay Batyr village.
