Uralsk: Hotels and accommodations

Uralsk lies on the right bank of the Ural and the left bank of the Chagan. In Oral, a historic urban complex developed along the main avenue from the Yaik River towards Pugachev Square. Those wishing to book a hotel in Uralsk can then continue searching for accommodation.

Culture

The Pushkin Museum, the former house of the military ataman in Uralsk, is located in the area surrounding the center of Oral. The former Russian-Kyrgyz/Kazakh vocational school was built in 1879 and now houses the West Kazakhstan Regional Historical and Local Lore Museum. The former Military Economic Administration building on Oral’s historic avenue was built around 1838 and now houses the Kh. Esenzhanov Library. The former Karev merchant house, now the G. Kurmangaliyev Regional Philharmonic, was built in 1901.

The Red Mosque is locally protected as a monument of 19th-century religious architecture and was built in the 1870s. The former madrasa, which G. Tukay attended from 1895 to 1905, stood next to it. The Jangir Khan Historical and Ethnographic Museum presents the material and spiritual culture of nomadic peoples through authentic ethnographic exhibits.

History

The city park is designated as a locally protected monument of history and culture. Its history began in 1840 with the planting of the Voiskovoy Garden. On the banks of the park, there are observation platforms and moorings for catamarans, boats, and double-decker river trams.
