Tash-Tyube: Hotels and Accommodations

Culture and History

Tash-Tyube II is one of the burial grounds in the Talas Valley whose archaeological materials are associated with communities of the Late Bronze Age from the Andronovo historical and cultural community. At the same time, Tash-Tyube II is classified among the Final Bronze Age sites of the Semirech’e-Fergana type within the Andronovo cultural sphere. The archaeological group associated with Tash-Tyube II is placed within a Final Bronze Age chronology from the 13th to the 9th century BC.

Tash-Tyube II is associated with evidence of cremation and/or inhumation. Most of the associated vessels are described as undecorated, while some vessels feature geometric ornaments. Most of the enclosures at Tash-Tyube II are rectangular and contain bundled burials; circular or small enclosures are also present. In several enclosures, a burial rite including the deposition of bones has been recorded.

One particularly specific detail concerns enclosure no. 37: it contains stones up to 0.85 meters long, some of which are standing upright. The pottery associated with Tash-Tyube II is described as handmade and low-fired. Poorly cleaned clay with temper consisting of grit and sand was used.

Etshkili-Too

Etshkili-Too, a rock art site 4,500 meters southwest of the place, is located in the immediate vicinity of Tash-Tyube. During the survey of the site, nine Arabic inscriptions and three tamgas were documented there. The inscription locations at Etshkili-Too can be reached from the Talas plain and the nearby villages on foot or on horseback.
