Kolka was one of the old Livonian fishing villages on the Baltic Sea coast. The village therefore combines a clearly recognizable coastal history with various points of interest at the cape, in nature and in the village itself.

Two routes with clearly different scales help provide an initial overview. The Slītere Circuit is a 50 km cycling route near Kolkasrags. It is aimed at active cyclists interested in coastal nature and Livonian cultural heritage. Because of its length, it is the more extensive of the two options. The Kolkasraga Pine Trail offers a shorter stretch through nature: this free, easy nature trail is 1.2 km long. In terms of distance, the Slītere Circuit's 50 kilometres therefore compare with the Pine Trail's 1.2 kilometres; in addition, only the Pine Trail is explicitly described as easy and free.
What can you see around Kolkasrags?
The Kolkasrags observation tower is a six-storey wooden tower with an upper viewing platform 16 metres high for observing the landscape and birds.
Another prominent cultural landmark is the “Those Taken by the Sea” memorial. It is located in the dunes near Kolkasrags and forms a symbolic gateway with a view of the new Kolka lighthouse.
How do the cape and the village differ?
At Cape Kolkasrags, the observation tower, memorial and Kolkasraga Pine Trail are located in the same coastal landscape; the Slītere Circuit is also situated there. In the village itself, the three churches are cultural points of interest.
